2012 the Final Season of Harvest By Jock Ellis The Israelites were a people with no real government, city, or well-defined country. They built themselves houses, and managed to build a temple (completed on Adar 3 (Feb. 2), 515 BC). It wasn't until Artaxerxes came to the throne 465 B.C. that we actually see them rebuilding the city and its restoration in 457 BC (Ezra 7:1-21). Ezra 7:13 I make a decree, that all they of the people of Israel, and of his priests and Levites, in my realm, which are minded of their own freewill to go up to Jerusalem, go with thee. Ezra 7:14 Forasmuch as thou art sent of the king, and of his seven counsellors, to enquire concerning Judah and Jerusalem, according to the law of thy God which is in thine hand; Ezra 7:15 And to carry the silver and gold, which the king and his counsellors have freely offered unto the God of Israel, whose habitation is in Jerusalem, Ezra 7:16 And all the silver and gold that thou canst find in all the province of Babylon, with the freewill offering of the people, and of the priests, offering willingly for the house of their God which is in Jerusalem: Ezra 7:17 That thou mayest buy speedily with this money bullocks, rams, lambs, with their meat offerings and their drink offerings, and offer them upon the altar of the house of your God which is in Jerusalem. The completion of the Second Temple in 457 B.C. are spiritual pictures that typifies both the 1st and 2nd coming of Christ. Zechariah 6:10 Take of them of the captivity, even of Heldai, of Tobijah, and of Jedaiah, which are come from Babylon, and come thou the same day, and go into the house of Josiah the son of Zephaniah; Zechariah 6:11 Then take silver and gold, and make crowns, and set them upon the head of Joshua the son of Josedech, the high priest; Zechariah 6:12 And speak unto him, saying, Thus speaketh the LORD of hosts, saying, Behold the man whose name is The BRANCH; and he shall grow up out of his place, and he shall build the temple of the LORD: Zechariah 6:13 Even he shall build the temple of the LORD; and he shall bear the glory, and shall sit and rule upon his throne; and he shall be a priest upon his throne: and the counsel of peace shall be between them both. Joshua, [Jehoshua, Jeshua, Oshea] a savior; a deliverer Christ pictured as the “BRANCH” that builds the Temple is a representation of his 1st coming Christ in which Christ came as a Temple builder. John 15:2 Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more 1Corinthians 3:9 For we are labourers together with God: ye are God’s husbandry, ye are God’s building. Silver and Gold Crowns placed on the head of Joshua the son of Josedech the high priest a picture of Christ 2nd Coming, when the believers' crowns are placed before Christ, and at the Marriage of the Lamb, Christ is described as having many crowns on his head. Revelation 4:10 The four and twenty elders fall down before him that sat on the throne, and worship him that liveth for ever and ever, and cast their crowns before the throne, saying, Revelation 19:11 And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war. Revelation 19:12 His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself. Revelation 19:13 And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God. Revelation 19:14 And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean. Revelation 19:15 And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. Revelation 19:16 And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS. Revelation 19:17 And I saw an angel standing in the sun; and he cried with a loud voice, saying to all the fowls that fly in the midst of heaven, Come and gather yourselves together unto the supper of the great God; Malachi 3:1 Behold, I will send my messenger, and he shall prepare the way before me: and the Lord, whom ye seek, shall suddenly come to his temple, even the messenger of the covenant, whom ye delight in: behold, he shall come, saith the LORD of hosts. Malachi 3:2 But who may abide the day of his coming? and who shall stand when he appeareth? for he is like a refiner’s fire, and like fullers’ soap: Malachi 3:3 And he shall sit as a refiner and purifier of silver: and he shall purify the sons of Levi, and purge them as gold and silver, that they may offer unto the LORD an offering in righteousness. 457 B.C. marks also the official completion of the 2nd Temple because it was in this year the Temple sacrifice offerings were reinstituted and Jerusaleum rebuilt. The completed Temple is also a picture of the 2nd Coming of Christ, because the work of Christ is finished when all those who God has purposed to save are saved and are a part of his eternal completed Temple. Revelation 3:12 Him that overcometh will I make a pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall go no more out: and I will write upon him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, which is new Jerusalem, which cometh down out of heaven from my God: and I will write upon him my new name. |
