2012 the Final Season of Harvest

By Jock Ellis

A question the Disciples asked Jesus about 1900 years ago:

Acts 1:6 When they therefore were come together, they asked of him, saying, Lord, wilt thou at this time restore again the kingdom to Israel?

Acts 1:7 And he said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power.

Clearly, when the disciples asked Jesus this question nearly 1900 years ago, God was not allowing believers to understand the timing of the End of the World.  However as we approach the End of the World, a question Today’s believer must asked is God in our day allowing us to understand the timing of the return of his Kingdom (End of the World). We see in scripture that God often reveals a written mystery to believers of an earlier era in the Bible, but the mystery is only understood several hundred years latter by believers in a latter era. For example the Apostle Paul declared in the Book of Colossians a mystery had been manifested (revealed) to the believers relating to fact that salvation would come to the Gentiles.

Colossians 1:26 Even the mystery which hath been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to his saints:

Colossians 1:27 To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:

Yet in the writings of Moses, which were about 1,400 year before the Apostle Paul's declaration in the Book of Colossians, God had already written in Genesis that through Abraham’s seeds "all nations" would be blessed. This point is also illustrated in the Book of Jonah where we see the City of Ninevah a "Gentile City" being saved by the preaching of Jonah. Thus we can see that clear biblical evidence existed of salvation being available to the Gentles prior to the Apostle Paul’s declaration of this revealed mystery. Thus a mystery may be written by God in the Bible, but the mystery is not understood until God allows in his timing the mystery of the writing to be understood..

Genesis 22:18 And in thy seed shall all the nations [1471 gowy] of the earth be blessed; because thou hast obeyed my voice.

Strong's Concordance:

1471. gowy, goŽ-ee; rarely (shortened) goŽ-ee; apparently from the same root as 1465 (in the sense of massing); a foreign nation; hence, a Gentile; also (figuratively) a troop of animals, or a flight of locusts:—Gentile, heathen, nation, people.

Jonah 3:5 So the people of Nineveh believed God, and proclaimed a fast, and put on sackcloth, from the greatest of them even to the least of them.

Also, in the Scriptures when we see pictures or types of the End of the World, God clearly had given advance notice in the Past to the Believers.  This can be seen in the pre-warnings of Doom give to each of the believers:  Noah and the Flood; Abraham and the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah; Isaiah and the destruction (the Northern Kingdom of Israel) and Jeremiah and the Destruction of Jerusalem and Babylon.

GOD specifically indicates in the Book of Amos and 1Thessalonians that all believers (brethren and prophets) that GOD will reveal the timing of the Coming of Christ (End of World).

Amos 3:5 Can a bird fall in a snare upon the earth, where no gin is for him? shall one take up a snare from the earth, and have taken nothing at all?

Amos 3:6 Shall a trumpet be blown in the city, and the people not be afraid? shall there be evil in a city, and the LORD hath not done it?

Amos 3:7 Surely the Lord GOD will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets.

1Thessalonians 5:2 For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night.

1Thessalonians 5:3 For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.

1Thessalonians 5:4 But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief.

If we are assured by the Scripture that GOD will reveal to the Believers the timing of the HIS coming or the End of the World. The next apparent question is; how much specificity is GOD going to reveal concerning the timing of Christ's Coming? A careful analysis of Matthew 24:36 might shed some light as to the how much specificity can be revealed concerning the timing of the End of the World.

Matthew 24:36 But of that day and hour knoweth <1492 eido> no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.

Strong's Concordance:

1492. eido, iŽ-do; a primary verb; used only in certain past tenses, the others being borrowed from the equivalent 3700 and 3708; properly, to see (literally or figuratively); by implication, (in the perfect tense only) to know:—be aware, behold, x can (+ not tell), consider, (have) know(-ledge), look (on), perceive, see, be sure, tell, understand, wish, wot. Compare 3700.

3708 horao, hor-ahŽ-o; properly, to stare at (compare 3700), i.e. (by implication) to discern clearly (physically or mentally); by extension, to attend to; by Hebraism, to experience; passively, to appear:—behold, perceive, see, take heed.

From the Greek we discover the word “know” [1492 eido], does not necessarily refer to not knowing an approximate time event, but "to know" can be interpreted from the sense of having experienced it, for example the statement "Adam knew Eve", does not mean Eve was totally unknown to Adam prior to a physical (experienced) relationship. Similarly, since no one has knowledge of Judgment Day from the standpoint of an experienced event, this does not mean that no one has knowledge of the approximate time occurrence for Judgment Day ( Return of Christ and End of the World).

We know that from a literal interpretation Matthew 24:36 that knowledge of an exact hour and date of the supernatural event "the Return of Christ" is impossible to comprehend (understand) since hours of times for any 24 hour day exist differently throughout the world and the Bible says that ever eye shall see him simultaneously.

Revelation 1:7 Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so, Amen.

In addition, when we literally examine Matthew 24:36 it does not say that no man knoweth the year, the month or even the week. With this being said, we can be on safe grounds in believing that GOD in the Scriptures may have provided us with an approximate timetable of the End of the World and perhaps one of these timetables is illustrated is in the Biblical Seasons of the Harvest Feasts. In Revelations 19:9 the marriage of the True Believers to Christ at the End of the World is typified as the Final ”Evening” Feast. Later we will see that the Final Feast associated the Biblical Seasons of Harvest was in the Jewish Month “Tishri” which is the equivalent to our Gregorian calendar’s September/October.

Revelation 19:9 And he saith unto me, Write, Blessed are they which are called unto the marriage supper<deipnon> of the Lamb.

1173. deipnon, dipeŽ-non; from the same as 1160; dinner, i.e. the chief meal (usually in the evening):—feast, supper

In addition Jesus in John 4: 34-35 specifically refers to the Jewish month Tishri, in reference to final harvest or the End of the World.

John 4:34 Jesus saith unto them, My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work.

John 4:35 Say not ye, There are yet four months, and then cometh harvest? behold, I say unto you, Lift up your eyes, and look on the fields; for they are white already to harvest.
