Abstract from Anchor Bible Dictionary
ARK OF THE COVENANT [I, 386–93] A sacred object that represented the presence of God in ancient Israelite religion. 1. Ark of God/YHWH. The ark is most often (82 times) associated with some divine name: “ark of God,” “ark of YHWH,” “ark of the God of Israel,” “ark of the lord of all the earth,” or the like. Most of these occur in the Deuteronomistic History; the rest are in Chronicles. In the Ark Narrative of 1 Samuel 4–6, we learn that the ark was associated with the divine name “YHWH of Hosts who sits enthroned upon the cherubim” (1 Sam 4:4; cf. 2 Sam 6:2; 1 Chr 13:6).
The Ark was taken in a battle by the Philistines in 1068 BC. This was an event that occurred in the same year with the death of Eli the high Priest and his wicked sons: (1 Sam. 1:3; 1 Sam. 2:12,22-24). Because Eli did not restrain his wicked sons the Lord promised to purge the evil from Israel (1 Sam. 3:11-14). Eli's sons were killed and Eli himself died when he fell over backwards off his seat and broke his neck upon hearing that the ark of the Lord had been taken by the Philistines (1 Sam. 4:11-18). Eli judged Israel for 40 years (1 Sam 4:18). The Ark's removal from Israel typified God's removal of the Holy Spirit from the churches indicating judgment had started on Israel (physical Churches) the start of Great Tribulation and Abomination of Desolation.- (a separate study will be presented further illustrating this point)
1Samuel 4:10 ¶ And the Philistines fought, and Israel was smitten, and they fled every man into his tent: and there was a very great slaughter; for there fell of Israel thirty thousand footmen. 1Samuel 4:11 And the ark of God was taken; and the two sons of Eli, Hophni and Phinehas, were slain. 1Samuel 4:12 ¶ And there ran a man of Benjamin out of the army, and came to Shiloh the same day with his clothes rent, and with earth upon his head. 1Samuel 4:13 And when he came, lo, Eli sat upon a seat by the wayside watching: for his heart trembled for the ark of God. And when the man came into the city, and told it, all the city cried out. 1Samuel 4:14 And when Eli heard the noise of the crying, he said, What meaneth the noise of this tumult? And the man came in hastily, and told Eli. 1Samuel 4:15 Now Eli was ninety and eight years old; and his eyes were dim, that he could not see. 1Samuel 4:16 And the man said unto Eli, I am he that came out of the army, and I fled to day out of the army. And he said, What is there done, my son? 1Samuel 4:17 And the messenger answered and said, Israel is fled before the Philistines, and there hath been also a great slaughter among the people, and thy two sons also, Hophni and Phinehas, are dead, and the ark of God is taken. 1Samuel 4:18 And it came to pass, when he made mention of the ark of God, that he fell from off the seat backward by the side of the gate, and his neck brake, and he died: for he was an old man, and heavy. And he had judged Israel forty years.
The return of the ark from the hands of the Philistines was in 1067 BC. This was an event that occurred in the same year that Samuel (Godly Priest) began to judge Israel; This event typified the return of Christ who removes Satan as the defacto ruler from the physical churches (cast into the lake of fire, Revelation 20:10) and God establishes his rulership of a new heaven and a new earth which cannot ever again be defiled:
Revelation 21:22 And I saw no temple therein: for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are the temple of it. Revelation 21:23 And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof. Revelation 21:24 And the nations of them which are saved shall walk in the light of it: and the kings of the earth do bring their glory and honour into it. Revelation 21:25 And the gates of it shall not be shut at all by day: for there shall be no night there. Revelation 21:26 And they shall bring the glory and honour of the nations into it. Revelation 21:27 And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb’s book of life. the ark of the LORD was in the country of the Philistines seven months.

The Bible mentions that the ark was returned during wheat harvest (1Samuel 6:13 ) * and was held for seven month (7 months proximity is 1067 BC). Ark of God returned to Israel after 7 months (1Sam 6:1, 7:1-2). Samuel judged Israel.
1Samuel 6:1 ¶ And the ark of the LORD was in the country of the Philistines seven months. 1Samuel 7:1 ¶ And the men of Kirjathjearim came, and fetched up the ark of the LORD, and brought it into the house of Abinadab in the hill, and sanctified Eleazar his son to keep the ark of the LORD. 1Samuel 7:2 And it came to pass, while the ark abode in Kirjathjearim, that the time was long; for it was twenty years: and all the house of Israel lamented after the LORD
*wheat harvest is identified with the final harvest:
1Samuel 6:13 And they of Bethshemesh were reaping their wheat harvest in the valley: and they lifted up their eyes, and saw the ark, and rejoiced to see it. John 4:35 Say not ye, There are yet four months, and then cometh harvest? behold, I say unto you, Lift up your eyes, and look on the fields; for they are white already to harvest. |

Planting of gardens in Babylon and harvesting of Garden for captives carried away under Jehoaichin is also associated with 19: The first Planting of gardens in Babylon and harvesting of Garden for captives carried away under Jehoaichin is also associated with 19 as 57 years has factors of 19 and 3. The first planting by the captives of Jehoaichin could have only occurred in Tishri 597 BC (see note below) to the last planting Tishri 540 for a total of 57 years. In addition, the first harvest by the captives of Jehoaichin could have only occurred in Tishri 596 (see note below) to the last harvest in Babylon (Babylon was destroyed October 10, 539 BC Feast of Ingathering) Tishri 539 BC for a total of 57 years. Note: Sowing Time Tishri, latter half (beginning about the autumnal equinox.) Cheshvan. Kislev, former half. Early rain due = first showers of autumn. Jeremiah 29:4 Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, unto all that are carried away captives, whom I have caused to be carried away from Jerusalem unto Babylon; Jeremiah 29:5 Build ye houses, and dwell in them; and plant gardens, and eat the fruit of them; The last King of Judah Zedekiah appointed by Babylon in the Spring of 597 BC. Thus, the captives of Jehoiachin could have only planted their first Garden in the fall of 597 BC in Babylon. The 19th Jubile and the year 457 BC: Exodus 1447/1446 (Exodus) + 40 years =1407/1406 (entered Chanaan - the start of the fiftieth year count). The jubiles occurred every fiftieth year. The year 457/456 BC equals 950 year from 1407/1406 BC, which is a total of 19 jubiles. The 19th jubile signified the completion of the latter rain harvest. Leviticus 25:11 A jubile shall that fiftieth year be unto you: ye shall not sow, neither reap that which groweth of itself in it, nor gather the grapes in it of thy vine undressed. The year 457 BC was a jubile Sabbath (land rested). The harvest season contains a Sabbath 50 days within the Harvest Season (Pentecost). A 127 days later from Pentecost is the final Harvest Season Sabbath or Ingathering. A tropical year is 365.24218967 days. There are 901,417 days from 457 BC to 2012 AD. The factors of 901,417 are 11 (last hour of harvest) X 19 X 19 (land rested in Chanaan to End of Great Tribulation in Jacob Day) X 227 (Pentecost). - see link for study
The Completion of the Pentecost Harvest (typified by the sealed 153 fish in the net) would be in the year Tishri (fall) 1993 to Tishri (fall) 1994. John 21:11 Simon Peter went up, and drew the net to land full of great fishes, an hundred and fifty and three: and for all there were so many, yet was not the net broken.
Tishri (fall) 1993 to Tishri (fall) 1994 year is the 13,005th (11,013 BC + 1992) year of the earth’s existence. The factors of 13,005 are: 153, 17 and 5 |
