| 6 Reasons-why the Flood occurred during the Fall/Winter and ended during the Fall (a year is divided between rain and harvest time).
- Geshem refers to rains that occur in fall and winter. The Hebrew word "Geshem" in both instances" translated "rain" occurred within the 40 days of the Flood (Genesis 7:12) and the "rain" that was restrained at the end of the 150th day (Genesis 8:2) is in reference to the month Kislev the 9th month and also the 3rd month in an agriculture/civil year, see Ezra 10:9 below (November/December) and Song 2:11 which associates he hebrew word "geshem" with the end of the winter rains. Note: The Winter rains start in December and end in March The Winter Rain was restrained at the end of 150 days (Genesis 8:2) in the 6 month (civil year) equivalent to our March (Month of Latter rain) as the receding of the flood (type of latter rain/ living-water hinder sea, ,Zechariah 14:8) served as water to produce the fall olive harvest, see link for study. - Ezra 10:9 Then all the men of Judah and Benjamin gathered themselves together unto Jerusalem within three days. It was the ninth month, on the twentieth day of the month; and all the people sat in the street of the house of God, trembling because of this matter, and for the great[1653 - Geshem] rain. - Song 2:11 For, lo, the winter is past, the[1653 - Geshem] rain. is over and gone;
- Short-day breeders, such as sheep, goats, deer, foxes, elk—are sexually active in fall or winter. A Spring departure from the Ark would mean these animals would have missed their breeding season. Since the Short-day breeders as the other animals were given the command to breed upon their departure from the ark.- Genesis 8:17 Bring forth with thee every living thing that is with thee, of all flesh, both of fowl, and of cattle, and of every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth; that they may breed abundantly in the earth, and be fruitful, and multiply upon the earth.
- The largest harvest is attributable to Fall not Spring (latter rains swell the wheat harvest).
- The earliest wheat is sown in Fall and Winter.
- Tilling/sowing season starts in Fall. Noah upon his departure of the Ark began to till ( as a "husbandman, Genesis 9:20 the ground
- If the Flood did occur in Spring this would mean that Winter rain (Genesis 8:2)which were not restrained until the end of the 150th day occurred in the season of Summer and the waters from the Flood were abated in Winter. This scenario is outside patterns of seasonal rain which God had established at creation, Genesis 1:14. -Jeremiah 5:24 Neither say they in their heart, Let us now fear the LORD our God, that giveth rain, both the former and the latter, in his season: he reserveth unto us the appointed weeks of the harvest.
